A versatile piece that may be worn as a brooch or teamed with a chain to form a pendant.
Symbol of flexibility, intelligence and regeneration. As a creature of water, the symbolism of the octopus relates to the psyche, emotion and intuition. The Minoans depicted the octopus on their pottery and in their frescoes: the silent, graceful creature, unfurling its tentacles, moving slowly through an element that is itself constantly in motion. It makes camouflage to protect itself against predators and, if necessary, can detach a limb, which in turn will regenerate. Its ejection of black ink is designed to confuse, delude and deter.
Below shows an image of the octopus brooch with one of our octopus stirrup jars.
Handmade for us in Greece, this jewellery collection is inspired by ancient Greek coins, the art and jewellery of the Minoan civilisation, and the animals that played a significant part in ancient Greek culture.
