Together with his teacher Sokrates and his pupil Aristotle, Plato formed an essential part of the great trio of ancient philosophers. Together they were said to have laid the philosophical foundations of western culture. Plato was a mathematician, a writer of philosophical dialogues, and the founder of the Acadamy in Athens, the first institution of 'Higher Education' in the western world.
He is cast for us, in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore, unique. Also please allow for variations of a milimeter or two from the specified height.
He is mounted on a marble base.
