Symbol of nature and fertility and protector of sacred places.

Originals of figurines like this fertility idol originate from the Mycenaean period (ca 1400-1300 BC) and were found in abundance in shrines, tombs and sanctuaries. Because of their similarity to the corresponding letters of the Greek alphabet, these figurines are known as PHI (Φ) and PSI (Ψ).

This little one, hand carved for us in Greece, is a light oatmeal colour with details of drapery and jewellery incised on her front.
