This lively little bronze composition is inspired by the Minoan 'bull-leaping' rituals, in which participants of both sexes vaulted over bulls by grasping their horns.

The famous fresco-tile, depicting this activity, was found in the palace at Knossos and dates to ca 1600-1500 BC. It is now on display in the museum in Heraklion in Crete.

It cast for us, in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore, unique. The base is made of marble.
