This style of goddess, with her hands outstretched, is the larger of the two found in the palace at Knossos. A serpent, symbol of fertility, curls around her outstretched arms and body, its head reaching her tall headdress.
She wears a long robe and an apron and her two breasts, symbols of fertility, are bare and characteristically protruding. The original faïence statuette, dating to ca 1600 BC, is in the museum in Heraklion. The height of the original is 34.2cm. Our replica just 2mm shorter.
Made for us in Greece, she is made of keramin (a strong plaster/polymer compound), then painted by hand.
