Delicate and elegant earrings, based on the iconic Phaistos Disc.
The original fired clay disc, now in the museum in Heraklion in Crete, was found at the Minoan palace at Phaistos and dates to ca 1500BC. The original is about 15cm in diameter and is covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. Its purpose and meaning, even its original place of manufacture, remain disputed, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology.
Our collection of gold jewellery is handmade for us in Greece and is inspired by, the traditional 'Greek key' or Meandros design, the art and jewellery of the Minoan civilisation, and the animals that played a significant part in ancient Greek culture.
