Gorgeous Zeus - or is he Poseidon? The original, magnificent full-size bronze statue, dating to ca 475-45 BC, is now in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. There has been considerable debate about his identity.

If Poseidon, he was hurling his trident; if Zeus, his thunderbolt. He was discovered in the sea, off Cape Artemision, between 1926 ad 1928 and is one of the handful of original, full-size bronze statues to survive from antiquity.

He is cast for us, in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore unique. Also, please allow for a variation of a millimeter or two from the specified height. He is mounted on a marble base.
