A gorgeous small bronze replica of this iconic piece.
The larger than lifesize marble original of Aphrodite from the island of Milos, better known as the Venus de Milo, is one of the most famous works of ancient Greek sculpture. Her arms and original plinth have been lost. From an inscription that was on the plinth, however, she is thought to be the work of Alexandros of Antioch ca 130-100BC, rather than the work of the master 4th century BC sculptor Praxiteles, as originally thought. She is now in the Louvre.
She is cast for us, in Greece, using the traditional 'lost wax' method. As nothing is mass-produced, there will inevitably be slight variations in patination and colouring. Each piece is, therefore, unique.
